2014會是怎樣的一年呢？政府、經濟和天候的瓦解和唐突意外事件的發生，都會特別顯著，而這可是人類歷史上從未見過的局面。上一次有類似能量出現，是在1770年、也就是美國革命那時候（譯註:1770年3月5日發生Boston Massacre/波士頓屠殺事件，埋下日後美國獨立戰爭的種子)。而感謝當代科學技術，我們比起從前，是更弱勢、更易受創囉。一小塊麵包從飛鳥的嘴巴落下，就能造成要價數十億美金的Large Hadron Collider/大型強子對撞機當機。一隻小老鼠在纜線上咬個幾下，就能搞得福島核電廠的冷卻系統故障。不可預期的這些那些，現在起都會非常明顯。呀呼！我們都上了雲霄飛車啦～
This is going to be a particularly significant year full of disruptions and sudden surprises of things happening in government, economy, and climate that have never happened before. Last time similar energies happened was in the 1770s around the time of the American Revolution. Thanks to modern science and technology, we are more vulnerable now. A bird dropping a croissant shut down the enormous mult-billion dollar Large Hadron Collider. A rat chewing on wires shut down the cooling system of Fukushima. The unpredictable is what is predictable here. Yahoo. We are in for a roller coaster ride.
